Welcome to the next edition of Monthly Mix. For this month’s featured artist we have a producer/vocalist hailing from Sydney, please welcome to the stage Kamaliza.
Kam is actually the former frontman of Olympic Ayres who had a string of success over the last years, some achievements including: Clocking over 12 mill on Spotify, featured music on FIFA 14 and 13 Reasons Why, alongside landing serious stage time with reputable Australian festivals like Marmalade Skies and Field Day.
Now, the Kamaliza project already had its Spotify plays in the millions with the first two releases ‘Zermatt‘ and ‘Zanzibar‘, so it was only fitting that Kam finished off the trilogy with the release of ‘Zenith‘ which was premiered by Mixmag. For us, these tracks really nicely weave between deep house and catchy RnB, we for one are looking forward to hearing what comes next!
Ok, we of course, wanted to get to know this rising talent a little better, so here’s a few generic (yet essential) quick-fire questions we threw at Kam earlier in the week.
What have you went for & how have you chosen to use your 30 mins in this mix?
This mix is a collection of club faves, it begins taking listeners down a dark rabbit hole and pulls you out to some lighter House toward the end
Thanks for letting me be a part of this mate, let me know if you need anything further
How long you been doing what you do ?
I started DJing when I was about 17 (I’m now 28), one day as i was lurking on MySpace and I found this guy who looked remarkably like me – Same hair, same skin tone, eyes everything.
